High school diploma or GED
One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to stand and walk regularly
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
Ability to climb or balance; talk or hear
Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to occasionally taste or smell
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance
Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Ability to work in environment regularly exposed to high, precarious places; wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration (moderate noise level)
Ability to safely operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment

Responsibilities

Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
Inspect the physical condition of warehouse inventory and equipment
Prepare materials for work orders and requisitions for equipment replacement
Ensure coordination of warehouse activities with other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing
Salvage damaged or used material and/or manage its disposal
Check all hand tools weekly, report problems, and replace them as needed
Inspect and replace issued equipment (including hand and portable power tools) as needed
Ensure all flammables are returned for proper storage and/or disposal
Safely operate forklifts or other equipment utilized in the warehouse area or for parts and/or supply delivery
Participate in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities
Maintain inventory control in the maintenance shop, including receiving and storing parts, maintenance supplies, and miscellaneous items
Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
Keep the work area clean and free of clutter (housekeeping)
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Use the correct tool for each job assignment
Report injury of oneself or coworker to management
Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document
Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues
Perform other duties as assigned
