Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, including quantities, locations, and usage
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure stock levels meet operational needs
  • Utilize inventory management software (SAP) or tools to track movement and update inventory status
  • Coordinate with procurement or purchasing departments to order replacement parts as needed
  • Research suppliers and ensure timely delivery of parts to minimize equipment downtime
  • Verify received parts against purchase orders and packing slips, resolving any discrepancies promptly
  • Organize parts storage areas for easy accessibility and efficient retrieval
  • Label parts bins, shelves, or storage containers to enhance identification and streamline inventory management
  • Implement appropriate storage practices to preserve the quality and integrity of parts
  • Respond to maintenance requests by promptly retrieving and distributing required parts to maintenance personnel
  • Prioritize urgent requests and communicate any delays or shortages to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure proper documentation of parts issuance and maintain records for accountability and traceability purposes
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
  • Handle and store parts in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations
  • Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to the overall safety culture of the facility
  • Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
  • Inspect the physical condition of warehouse inventory and equipment
  • Prepare materials for work orders and requisitions for equipment replacement
  • Ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing
  • Salvage damaged or used material and/or its disposal
  • Check all issued equipment (including hand and portable power tools), and ensure they are inspected and replaced when needed
  • Ensure all flammables are returned for proper storage and/or disposal
  • Safely operate forklifts or other equipment utilized in the warehouse area or for parts and/or supply delivery
