Candidates must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, along with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent. A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred, particularly in an outpatient or dialysis setting. Strong assessment, planning, and documentation skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care to dialysis patients, including conducting initial home visits with a staff member, delivering patient education on peritoneal and home hemodialysis, and monitoring patients during treatment. They will assess patient needs, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, document patient data, administer medications, and respond to emergencies. Furthermore, they will participate in staff training, ensure proper laboratory procedures, and contribute to quality improvement activities within the clinic setting.
