Requirements

  • Completing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering in December 2025 (Spring 2025 and Spring 2026 graduates will be considered)
  • Demonstrable programming experience from undergraduate projects or internships
  • Programming experience in C++ and Python
  • Strong communication skills
  • Due to contractual requirements, US Citizenship and a willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Full-time on-site work at Kitware’s office in Clifton Park, NY (32 hours per week during college semesters and approximately 40 hours per week during summers)

Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of what it takes to create and maintain powerful open-source software platforms
  • Learn the technical and business knowledge to become leaders at Kitware
  • Be taught the fundamentals of project leadership skills and learn how to acquire funding to develop open source platforms
  • Gain a Master’s degree in Computer Science
  • Work on a variety of open-source projects in areas such as computer vision, scientific computing, data and analytics, medical computing, and software solutions (32 hours per week onsite during semesters and ~40 hours per week onsite during summers)
