Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, or related field
Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions
Computer and keyboarding skills
Physical ability to stand, bend, reach, and handle bulky parts; frequently lift up to 35 pounds

Responsibilities

Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data; continue operation to accomplish production goals
Calculate and set controls to regulate machine and enter commands to edit program in order to accomplish quality production goals
Confirm accuracy of first set ups regarding size, shape, forming sequence, etc., using test pieces and again with first production piece and at subsequent intervals
Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
Retrieve, input, interpret drawings and other data found in computer system
Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance results, and adjust machine controls or control settings as required
Troubleshoot work-related problems by applying knowledge and experience to efficiently maintain production/quality goals with minimal attrition to equipment
Use computer (SAP) system shared plant-wide to accomplish and track production data
Measure, count, coordinate materials and parts to monitor production quality and volume
Clean scale or scrap from die with air hose or brush to achieve quality
Grind out burrs and sharp edges, using portable grinder
