High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 days
Medication Aide certification required within 120 days with HS Diploma/GED
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work night shift (5:30pm-6:00am, every 3rd weekend/holiday, 72hrs/2wks)

Responsibilities

In training to become Nurse Assistant certified and/or Medication Aide certified
Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights)
Ensure a clean environment, transport patients upon admission/dismissal, assist with ambulation, and orient/reorient residents to the facility for safety
Perform vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight) and document concise, factual information
Assist residents in performing specific medical care activities per policy/procedure (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares)
Provide feedback to nursing staff on resident status changes, pain management, and concerns
Assist with restocking supplies, maintaining work environment, and cleaning procedures
Participate in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
Comply with resident rights (confidentiality, privacy) and report allegations of abuse or misappropriation
Follow policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous/chemical communication
Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, families, and staff
