High School Diploma/GED (required for Medication Aide certification within 120 days)
Ability to work primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays (6:00am-6:30pm, every 3rd weekend/holiday, 72hrs/2wks)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
In training to become Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and/or Medication Aide certified

Responsibilities

Provide direct personal care and services to residents, meeting physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs to maintain/improve independent function
Assist residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, ambulation)
Answer call lights, ensure clean environment, transport patients, orient/reorient residents for safety
Perform vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight) and document concise/factual information
Assist with specific medical care activities per policy/procedure (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares)
Provide feedback to nursing staff on resident status changes, pain management, and concerns
Restock supplies, maintain clean/safe work environment, perform cleaning procedures
Participate in emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
Comply with resident rights (confidentiality, privacy), report abuse or misappropriation
Follow policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous/chemical communication
Interviewing, hiring, developing, training, retaining employees; planning, assigning, leading work; appraising performance; rewarding/coaching; addressing complaints/resolving problems
