Requirements

  • Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
  • Extensive experience in Decision Making and Critical Thinking for power converters (evaluates past decisions, assesses options, advises others)
  • Extensive experience in Effective Communications (adapts for audiences, demonstrates empathy/assertiveness, uses persuasion)
  • Extensive experience in Technical Excellence in power conversion, hardware, and controls (mentors others, coaches on solutions, provides effective solutions to challenges)
  • Knowledge of effective Project Management strategies (plan, organize, monitor, control projects, utilize resources)

Responsibilities

  • Lead technology development projects from requirements, concept down select to prototype validation
  • Lead sponsored research projects with University and National labs
  • Act as a technical advisor and subject matter expert for the Power Conversion Team
  • Partner with market facing organizations to support customer project development
  • Lead a small team of engineers to work on projects that make impact for Caterpillar’s power generation products
