Requirements
- 2 years carpentry or scenic/prop building experience
- 1+ years of other fabrication experience (e.g., metal work, upholstery, sewing, 3D printing, CNC operating)
- Safe and comfortable using various power tools, materials, and building techniques
- Dependable and flexible to work on studio/shop needs
- Able to lift 65lbs
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of email and Microsoft Office suite
- Willing to adapt to sudden requests and diligently follow build requirements
- Comfortable maintaining equipment and prop storage practices
- Past work in theatre/film production and/or motion capture (major plus)
Responsibilities
- Construct props and set pieces for stage use
- Troubleshoot complicated builds, especially stunt builds
- Work efficiently both independently and with a team
- Follow industry best practices regarding safety procedures
- Read and interpret build designs
- Thoroughly understand performance and build needs
- Be organized and detail-oriented with an eye for quality
- Modify builds as needs change
- Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Maintain shop organization and cleanliness throughout the day
