Responsibilities

The Mortgage Closing Specialist II will act as an intermediary for loan closing preparation, ensuring the accuracy of data for Closing Disclosure issuance, including insurance, taxes, fees, payoffs, and third-party invoices. They will be responsible for issuing closing documents and funding loans in adherence to all relevant guidelines. This role involves maintaining communication with all parties, obtaining necessary closing documentation, and thoroughly reviewing files for compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include following up on rate lock and document expirations, validating fees, submitting wires for funding, and preparing/issuing Closing Disclosures accurately. The specialist will also report system and document issues, test system updates, assist with onboarding and training new staff, and contribute to departmental manuals. As a senior member, they will support the Team Lead by answering questions, briefing peers on updates, and providing input on business practices, while consistently exceeding performance objectives and adhering to compliance and risk controls.
