High School or GED Equivalent
Minimum age 18
Less than 1 year previous experience as a Patient Care Technician or Certified Nurse Assistant (preferred)
Previous experience in medical field (preferred)
Previous experience with telemetry monitoring (preferred)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating shifts including days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (every 3rd weekend and holiday, 24 hrs per pay period)

Responsibilities

Provide continuous monitoring of patients utilizing the monitoring platform
Always maintain observation of assigned patients, both visually and/or through use of the monitoring platform’s alerts
Verbally redirect patients as needed using the monitoring platform audio/visual system
Immediately alert clinical staff or nursing staff if the patient requires assistance
Recognize and assess alerts and changes in patient and respond appropriately
Provide patient with explanations as necessary through the monitoring system voice output (dependent on platform)
Assist nurses in providing patient care
Serve as a resource to unit staff for placement, equipment management and troubleshooting of monitoring platform
Record and chart clinical data such as temperature, pulse, respiration and similar patient information with accuracy and detail
Maintain accurate patient data and seek clarification from appropriate source when in doubt
Transcribe physician’s orders, complete all necessary forms, requisitions and computer entries to implement orders
