Position Overview
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific to assist customers in finding cures, protecting the environment, and ensuring food safety with impactful work and career support. This role focuses on leading national clinical understanding and integration of BRAHMS biomarker tests, particularly in neonatology and pediatrics, and supporting the medical plan for new diagnostics in these fields.
Responsibilities
- Educate internal collaborators and external customers on disease states related to our biomarker portfolio, especially in infectious disease, pediatrics, and neonatology.
- Respond to off-label medical information requests with balanced scientific and technical information, serving as the clinical authority on diseases and assays.
- Build and update medical content and educational materials for internal and external use, ensuring the scientific validity of Marketing and Sales materials.
- Support the organization’s digital transformation with medical and scientific content.
- Identify and profile Advisors, Key Opinion Leaders, and other influencers in the therapeutic areas of interest for BRAHMS biomarkers, encouraging scientific dialogue and relationships.
- Develop a speaker’s bureau of external clinical users and advocates for company-sponsored education events.
- Attend scientific medical congresses, engage in scientific conversations, prepare conference reports, and build post-meeting communications.
- Generate insights and medical value propositions to advise the selection of clinical indications and use cases in collaboration with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and other internal functions.
- Partner with internal colleagues on claim extension activities and clinical practice guideline development strategies, including support for evidence synthesis and medical argumentation.
- Provide expert knowledge and disease state insights for study protocol design and review study concepts.
- See opportunities with leading researchers for future research projects and channel collaboration proposals to the internal review board.
Requirements
- Education: Scientific degree (MSc, PhD, MD) or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3 to 4 years of proven track record in neonatal and/or pediatric infectious disease strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills, both in writing and via formal presentation.
- Excellent problem-solving and persuasion skills.
- Ability for scientific, creative, and critical thinking.
- Proven track record in establishing and managing relationships with a wide range of external leaders with a point of view.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range (Virginia-based estimate): $108,000.00 – $159,000.00
- Bonus Eligibility: May be eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance.
