Deep knowledge of diabetes care, glucose monitoring, and relevant therapeutic areas
Ability to engage in scientific exchange with thought leaders, external experts, and healthcare providers
Strong communication skills for providing medical/scientific advice, guidance, and dissemination of credible scientific information
Field-based experience in a remote capacity within the Northeast Region (Long Island/NYC)
Capability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with commercial teams while maintaining functional independence

Responsibilities

Provide scientific and medical leadership to build and maintain professional, credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts of strategic importance to Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC)
Ensure a strong medical and scientific presence for ADC in key academic centers through facilitation of research and educational initiatives
Support requests for medical and scientific information on ADC products or areas of therapeutic interest
Serve as the medical/scientific voice of expertise for ADC products and therapeutic areas, including scientific exchange and professional development with key thought leaders/external experts
Provide medical/scientific affairs support to the US commercial team and interface regularly with appropriate commercial team members
Act as a point of contact within the medical and scientific affairs team for thought leaders and external experts in the assigned geographic area (Northeast Region: Long Island/NYC) to satisfy their needs
Support scientific dialogue and collaboration in areas of research, scientific publications, and medical/scientific exchange, including unsolicited requests for medical information
Maintain a high level of knowledge to ensure credible dissemination of scientific information and dialogue with thought leaders, healthcare providers, and healthcare organizations
