Responsibilities

Serve as the medical/scientific voice of expertise for Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) products and therapeutic areas
Provide medical/scientific expert advice, guidance, scientific exchange, and professional development to key thought leaders/external experts
Provide medical/scientific affairs support to the US commercial team
Support scientific credibility of ADC through dialogue, collaboration in research, scientific publications, and medical/scientific exchange
Interface regularly with appropriate US commercial team members
Provide scientific and medical leadership to ensure professional, credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts of strategic importance
Ensure strong medical/scientific presence in key academic centers via facilitation of research and educational initiatives
Support requests for medical and scientific information on products or therapeutic areas of interest
Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with other in-field members while retaining functional independence
Serve as point of contact within medical/scientific affairs for thought leaders/external experts in assigned geographic area (Northeast Region: Long Island/NYC)
