Requirements
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) upon hire, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) upon hire, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) upon hire, or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) upon hire, or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) upon hire
- Preferred: Associate's graduate of a Medical Assistant program or technical degree; 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities
- Learn and maintain proficient understanding and utilization of the EMR (LSS)
- Provide accurate, completed, legible, and timely documentation of all patient encounters and procedures in the medical record
- Enter accurate, complete, legible, and timely orders based on physician’s orders in the medical record
- Work collaboratively as a team member with the physician, nurse(s), and receptionists in a clinic setting to provide exceptional patient care
- Maintain knowledge of preauthorization process and ensure all criteria is met before orders for advanced imaging is placed
- Ensure encounters have complete and accurate diagnoses and that documentation supports the appropriate billing/coding levels
- Ensure all documentation enhances compliance with applicable documentation standards including Meaningful Use
- Assist the physician with clinical quality measures and chronic disease management documentation and process
- Assist with a patient-centered approach to each encounter that maximizes patient satisfaction and outcome
- Periodically perform patient care to assure efficient patient flow and high quality care and services
