Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, materials science, and thermodynamics
Proficient in C++ programming
Familiarity with the Linux operating system and command-line interface
Experience with embedded systems (e.g., microcontrollers, sensors, actuators)
Demonstrable hardware building skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
(Bonus) Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360)
(Bonus) Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32)
(Bonus) Knowledge of common communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART)

Responsibilities

Participate in the design and development of mechanical components and systems, utilizing CAD software and rapid prototyping techniques
Assist in the assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical hardware with embedded systems and electronic components
Build and iterate on physical prototypes using 3D printing, machining, and other fabrication methods
Contribute to the development and execution of test plans to validate system performance and reliability
Work with embedded systems and utilize C++ skills for tasks related to system control, data acquisition, or interfacing with mechanical hardware
Operate within a Linux development environment for specific project tasks
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, assembly instructions, and test reports
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers (mechanical, electrical, software) to achieve project goals
