Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Automation, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5+ years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of engineering change control processes such as Agile and OCPLM
  • Familiarity with mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Solid statistical analysis skills and ability to perform Design of Experiments (DOE) using JMP software
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to drive and complete Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCMs)
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills, with a proactive and involved approach
  • Prior background in a biotech setting preferred
  • Expertise in programming and integration solutions with liquid handling systems preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve systems for automating liquid handling, including system integration, programming, and robotics
  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions for automating liquid handling
  • Ensure successful installation, development, and integration of liquid handling automation systems such as Tecan and Hamilton instruments with existing infrastructure
  • Plan and conduct thorough systems testing and solve technical issues
  • Work closely with Technical Operations, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to align automation initiatives with strategic goals
  • Analyze current processes to find opportunities for automation to improve performance and increase efficiency
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities and role responsibilities
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and apply them to improve systems
  • Debug failures off the line, perform root-cause analysis, and update product designs as required
  • Complete process engineering changes in OCPLM and update documentation and SOPs as needed
