The Manager, Portfolio Accounting should have experience leading, training, and supervising internal and third-party accountants. Responsibilities include overseeing assigned portfolios, managing investor relations on transactions, cash flows, corporate governance, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and tax matters. Experience with process improvement initiatives and a hands-on, dynamic personality are essential. Familiarity with real estate investment structures such as separately managed accounts, open-end structures, and closed-end structures is required.
The Manager, Portfolio Accounting will maintain the general ledger for separate accounts and funds, including closing books, reviewing property accounting, and meeting reporting deadlines. They will prepare and review reconciliations, onboard new investors and accounts, and review financial reporting packages and portfolio transactions. The role involves assisting with fair value financial statements, overseeing cash management and distributions, and managing audits and tax return filings. Additionally, they will lead and supervise accounting processes, hire, train, and develop team members, and collaborate on process improvement initiatives and accounting policies.
