Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical technology
- Master Electrician License NYC DOB (required certification)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in live Stage Theatre (Opera experience desirable)
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical diagrams, as well as knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, replace, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures, equipment, building infrastructure, machinery, and lighting systems
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues
- Ensure appropriate response to operational emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local (NYC) and national safety codes and regulations
- Conduct inspections of electrical equipment and its components
- Maintain records and prepare reports
- Respond to emergency situations and environmental compliance emergencies
