Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment (some experience in manufacturing and assembling preferred)
  • Working knowledge of basic math
  • At least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Read production scheduling sheets and identify required material for the operation
  • Ensure material meets quality specifications (grade, size, moisture content, etc.)
  • Perform setups according to specifications
  • Feed material according to specifications
  • Periodically check equipment to ensure specifications are being met
  • Offload and stack material in accordance with established procedures (may cover, label, and band components of finished product if required)
  • Ensure work area is safe, clean, and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
  • Complete pre-shift-startup equipment inspection checklist and report any problems or concerns
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Maintain production records as required
  • Check materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards
  • Perform duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
  • Perform LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) as required
  • Perform preventive maintenance as specified
  • Participate in safety, CI (Continuous Improvement), and other programs and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
