Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment (some experience in manufacturing and assembling preferred)
Working knowledge of basic math
At least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

Read production scheduling sheets and identify required material for the operation
Ensure material meets quality specifications (grade, size, moisture content, etc.)
Perform setups according to specifications
Feed material according to specifications
Periodically check equipment to ensure specifications are being met
Offload and stack material in accordance with established procedures (may cover, label, and band components of finished product if required)
Ensure work area is safe, clean, and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
Complete pre-shift-startup equipment inspection checklist and report any problems or concerns
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Maintain production records as required
Check materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards
Perform duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
Perform LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) as required
Perform preventive maintenance as specified
Participate in safety, CI (Continuous Improvement), and other programs and meetings
Perform other duties as assigned
