Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and improve algorithms and systems used by researchers to train models with RLHF and other related methods
Improve the speed, reliability, and ease-of-use of finetuning systems
Profile reinforcement learning pipelines to find improvement opportunities
Build systems to regularly launch training jobs in test environments for quick problem detection
Make changes to finetuning systems for new model architectures
Build instrumentation to detect and eliminate issues like Python GIL contention in training code
Diagnose and fix issues causing training runs to slow down
Implement stable, fast versions of new training algorithms proposed by researchers
