Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of work experience in material handling: warehousing, shipping, and/or receiving (preferred)
  • Proven record of leading and mentoring teams, with experience in guiding peers
  • DOT/IATA Certification (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting shipping labels (DOT labeling)
  • Ability to be trained in the operation of pallet jacks and lift gates
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Able to lift 30-40 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally), and use equipment to move up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and bend for full shifts in varied environmental conditions (fluctuating temperatures, loud noises, strong odors, hazardous materials, etc.)
  • Willingness to wear PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, steel-toe shoes, etc.) and work with hazardous/toxic materials

Responsibilities

  • Generate, verify, and match shipping labels with incoming packages to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain awareness of current SDS and ensure compliance
  • Identify order discrepancies and raise to appropriate personnel
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing packages are scanned accurately for inventory control
  • Safely operate pallet jacks to move heavy packages and pallets
  • Ensure proper handling and placement of items to prevent damage
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials to the appropriate locations
  • Serve as point of contact for customers and carriers, ensuring compliance and efficiency in dock and shipping activities
  • May perform other duties as assigned by management
