Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of combined experience in detection engineering, incident response, or security engineering. Advanced technical knowledge of large-scale SIEM platforms, extensive experience creating custom threat detection rules using threat intelligence and attack surface data, and a strong understanding of adversary tools, tactics, and techniques are required. Familiarity with detecting complex malware behaviors, creating technical policies and documentation, and the ability to participate in an on-call rotation are also necessary. A high-speed DSL or cable modem is required for remote work, with specific speed requirements and restrictions on satellite/wireless internet. Occasional travel may be required. A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field and professional cybersecurity certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

The Lead Detection Engineer will build and curate custom cyber threat detection content for the enterprise environment, working closely with Threat Management and Response teams and other IT departments. This role is responsible for the technical execution and delivery of services provided by the Detection Engineering team, overseeing the SIEM, and managing the full lifecycle of custom threat detection content development and maintenance to support threat response operations.
