Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, related field, or suitable combination of education, experience, and training
  • 5-7 years’ experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
  • Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors related to elevating the consumer experience
  • Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
  • Experience in technical footwear design
  • Experience in knit design
  • Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
  • Ability to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc
  • Cobbling and prototyping skills (plus)
  • 3D design program experience (plus)
  • Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing (plus)
  • Ability and passion to lead, mentor, and onboard Design teammates
  • Contribute and align to shared team culture and behaviors

Responsibilities

  • Work hand in hand with a large project team of different professionals (engineers, researchers, scientists, marketing, testing, sustainability, materials, costing, etc.)
  • Collaborate within the design community (external partners, industrial designers, materials, color, graphics, computational, etc.)
  • Mentor other designers
  • Create concepts and developments on a range of material designs for the Energy White Space Footwear segments of Nike sports and lifestyle
  • Elevate new technologies that influence brand-new models
  • Work on seasonal narratives elevating existing materials for classics and iconic products
  • Partner with key stakeholders cross-functionally on the product creation process
  • Help bring the vision for the future of Nike Energy White Space Footwear products to life
  • Unleash creativity with a focus on sustainability
  • Leverage consumer insights to inform creative response
  • Drive innovation and cultural connections embedded into designs to create separation
