Requirements

Candidates should possess a Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, and have at least 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong preference for experience in the financial industry. Strong proficiency in Python or R is required, along with experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization techniques. Experience with large datasets and cloud computing platforms is also desired.

Responsibilities

The Lead Data Scientist will be responsible for driving data analytics and building predictive models to support strategic decision-making within Wise, partnering closely with finance, operations, and product teams. They will collect, clean, and process financial and operational datasets, develop interactive dashboards and reports, and leverage statistical methods to analyze trends and measure business performance. Furthermore, the Lead Data Scientist will design and build predictive models for forecasting key financial metrics, identify automation opportunities, ensure data quality and governance, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
