Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and detail-oriented individual
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Good time-management skills, with availability for long hours and weekends as necessary during peak seasons
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and provide immediate and long-term solutions

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of varying knowledge and backgrounds
  • Ability to work outside in a rigorous environment, lift 50 lbs. regularly, and perform repeated bending and lifting activities throughout the workday
  • Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in horticulture and/or 5+ years of field experience demonstrating strong management and leadership potential
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with mowing, pruning, botany, pest identification and management, and identification of trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, and grasses
  • Experience with truck and trailer operation
  • Certified Professional Horticulturist certificate
  • Certified Landscape Technician certificate
  • Certified Pesticide Applicator training
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Directly reports to the Installation Division Manager on all matters, including progress, issues, and logistical requirements
  • Manage and coordinate job schedules and personnel scheduling in conjunction with the Division Manager and Sales Staff
  • Estimate change orders under the direction of the Operations Manager or Sales Staff
  • Manage multiple crews of laborers, ensuring their craftsmanship meets the highest levels of quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for the Owner, Sales Staff, Architect, Subcontractors, and Vendors
  • Train and develop subordinates on best practices and company standards
  • Ensure preventive and post-maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Accurately track and record job expenses and hours in alignment with the budget or estimate
  • Perform other duties as required, including but not limited to pruning, integrated pest management and identification, horticultural tasks, and operation of small and heavy machinery
