- Available for full-time 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM ET, Monday - Friday) at fully onsite location in Highland Heights, Kentucky
- Ability to work in environmental conditions with fluctuating temperatures (hot/cold), office setting, and wear PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.)
- Advanced evaluation and judgment skills for routine and complex laboratory analyses in Hematology and PBMC
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily work activities, maintaining high standards of scientific and administrative operations, and ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols
- Operate, maintain, and repair clinical laboratory equipment, including routine preventive maintenance, calibrations, and safety checks
- Oversee weekly and monthly Quality Control processes and manage the Quality Control database
- Assist in setting up and validating new assays as directed by the manager
- Perform and report routine and complex laboratory analyses using set protocols and guidelines to evaluate credibility and accuracy of test results, providing data for validation
- Coordinate personnel and testing steps to achieve maximum productivity
- Monitor and resolve instrument problems; implement new technology and instruments according to established protocols
- Gather data for quality improvement activities and participate in comparison studies of precision, accuracy, and linearity for new or existing assays
- Develop new policies and procedures in conjunction with laboratory senior management and write Standard Operating Procedures
- Mentor team members, providing guidance, reviewing and checking work
- Train and assess the competency of staff, issue formal evaluations
- Recruit, interview, and hire new staff
- Regularly interact with non-laboratory departments to organize workflow, troubleshoot problems, and meet client expectations
