Requirements
- Student at mbo-, hbo-, or wo-level in relevant fields such as Geneeskunde (AIOS, AVG-arts, coassistenten, etc.), Kinder- of jeugdarts, Klinische technologie, Longarts, Physician Assistant, Kinder- en Jeugdpsychologie, Kinderfysiotherapie, Handtherapie, Bewegingstechnologie (Mens en Techniek), Communication & Multimedia design, Human Technology Interaction, or similar
- Stage must be a mandatory part of the education program for eligibility for stagevergoeding (minimum 144 hours per study year)
- First check with your educational institution's stagebureau for availability and agreements with Basalt before applying
- Specific stages have requirements like year of study (e.g., jaar 3 or 4), duration (e.g., 6-7 months, 20-40 weeks), location (e.g., Leiden, Den Haag, Zoetermeer, Delft), and patient groups (e.g., 0-18 years, hand/wrist/elbow rehab)
Responsibilities
- Gain practical experience in rehabilitation medicine and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings with patients affected by illness, accidents, or congenital conditions
- Participate in various stage forms: regular stages (20-40 weeks), orientation stages (~1 week), graduation stages (project-based), or meeloopdagen (1- few days)
- Perform tasks specific to the stage, such as patient care in areas like kinderfysiotherapie, handtherapie, psychology, or technology/innovation/research roles (e.g., gangbeeldanalyse, quality + research)
- Contribute to patient rehabilitation by helping patients expand limits, build strength, and achieve independence through positive health perspectives
