Requirements

  • Completed degree in Biology with a focus on Microbiology or several years of professional experience in pharmaceutical microbiology
  • PhD in Biology desirable
  • Professional experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or comparable environment with a microbiological focus
  • Ideally, experience in microbiological processes for maintaining aseptic workflows; first experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing of DPD desirable
  • Ideally, initial experience in project management
  • Sound knowledge of GMP-compliant documentation
  • Good English skills in spoken and written
  • Convincing and assertive, with high self-motivation and willingness to take responsibility
  • Resilient and enjoys working in a performance-oriented environment
  • Problem-solving oriented and confident in handling conflict situations
  • Structured and goal-oriented working style, team-capable and communicative personality
  • Proficient in common MS Office programs
  • Enjoys interacting with people and achieving success as a team

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and planning microbiological quality control according to national and international GMP guidelines and GMP-compliant documentation of results in the team
  • Performing root cause analyses and risk assessments for microbiological deviations and contributing to CAPA management
  • Reviewing and microbiologically evaluating test results
  • Supporting and contributing to continuous process improvement: developing microbiological trend analyses, maintaining microbiological methods, developing test specifications, in interdisciplinary projects (e.g., introduction of new products/methods), and in inspection preparations
  • Professional supervision of lab assistants (e.g., training) and coordination of workflows in microbiology (e.g., prioritization)
  • Passing on information (e.g., from projects and planning meetings) to the team
  • Supporting microbiological issues and improvements in aseptic manufacturing processes and aseptic process simulation (APS)
