Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Five years of working experience required
  • Three to five years of inventory control experience required
  • General PC knowledge with an ability to use spreadsheet, word processing and graphics presentation software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to translate technical information to non-technical users
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities with demonstrated skill in evaluating reports, identifying issues, noting trends, and reporting to management
  • Proven ability to learn new technical tools quickly
  • Familiar with all concepts, practices and procedures of Inventory Control
  • Qualifies to execute all essential job functions of an Inventory Control Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to Inventory Control Specialists and Inventory Control Cycle Counters on the execution of inventory control tasks
  • Creates and maintains efficient and accurate DC-specific inventory procedures, consistent with company policy and procedure
  • Establishes and maintains an operationally efficient and accurate cycle count strategy
  • Ensures on-going integrity of high risk sku cycle count execution, frequency, and results review. Elevates issues as required
  • Reviews exceptions and errors, reporting material exceptions to Distribution Center and Finance management, as appropriate
  • Executes the published warehouse optimization program which ensures that product is available in the most operationally efficient warehouse locations
  • Manages product to avoid instances of damage or expiration. As necessary, determines appropriate disposition of inventory, including any possible avenues for recoup of cost of goods
  • Manages activities pertinent to Proactive Cycle Count Program execution, including variance root cause analysis and permanent corrective action. Coordinates audit activities specific to on-site observation
  • Coordinates all physical inventory warehouse preparation and cutoff activities as required by PI Instruction documentation. Manage system requirements and control desk functions, resolve variances, and perform all final reconciliation requirements
  • Performs additional duties as directed
