Thorough understanding of the Transmission and Distribution electrical system and its components
Knowledge of Terms and Conditions of Service and General Service tariffs as approved by state regulatory commissions
Understanding of electrical units including kW, kWh, and kVAR as they relate to billing, capacity, power factor correction, etc
Ability to serve as primary subject matter expert for Transmission liaison questions and process contact
Capability to build trusting relationships with key internal contacts and provide clear explanations on service reliability and power quality
Preferred locations: New Albany, OH; Tulsa, OK; Corpus Christi, TX (co-location for qualified candidates)
Onsite/in the office every day when not traveling
Responsibilities
Manage wholesale end-use (load) and transmission owner (load and tie line) requests/inquiries, Transmission tie-line (TO-TO), and Generation IPPs once interconnected in assigned geographic area or customer segment
Serve as primary contact for correspondence to RTO questions/requests in the global email box per Transmission Interconnections Requirements
Log, analyze, and provide resolution recommendations for Interconnection and Local Delivery Service Agreement (ILDSA), TO-TO modifications or questions within established systems
Respond to interconnected Generator questions and serve as primary subject matter expert for Transmission liaison questions and process contact
Monitor performance, including communication with internal transmission and distribution planning, contract organizations for affiliate and non-affiliate Distribution distributed resource facilities impacting the transmission system
Act as Transmission liaison coordinator for retail customer solutions after delegation from AEP Operating Company personnel, leading Transmission profile compilations
Manage, coordinate, and facilitate solutions for emerging strategic initiatives related to process, accounting, ILDSA, tie-line interconnections, Gen IPP interconnections, quality of service, ROW, permits, ordinances/resolutions, taxes, siting, complaints, environmental, regulatory, etc
Coordinate Generation IPP requests to interconnect and/or End User load requests to interconnect, manage RTO tariff processes, internal transmission and distribution teams, and execute study templates internally and externally
Serve as single point of contact for assigned wholesale/transmission interconnections and proactively interface with interconnecting entities in anticipation of regulatory/political/industry changes
Facilitate and engage System Interconnection Contracts when necessary
Proactively communicate with interconnecting entities on Power Quality and Reliability metrics and engage company staff to address issues or questions
