Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, or related discipline
Extensive experience in I&C engineering within large-scale infrastructure projects (water sector experience highly desirable)
Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing plant control and instrumentation solutions
Experience with cable termination drawings and cable routing design
Demonstrated understanding of Australian and international standards (AS, IEC, ISO, ASME, etc.)

Responsibilities

Preparation of scope of services and technical documentation for DCS, pneumatics, analysers (pH, conductivity, ORP, etc.) and instrumentation (flow, pressure, etc.)
Develop detailed I&C schedules, including cables, instruments, and I/O assignments
Preparation of Instrumentation Datasheets, select and specify appropriate instruments and monitoring systems based on process requirements, Sydney Water standards and compliance
Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and, where applicable, Sydney Water standards
Validate control sequences for water and wastewater operations, ensuring accurate data acquisition, process efficiency, and reliable monitoring and control
Assist and Plan the location and arrangement of instrumentation and control equipment, including cabinets and plant layouts
Collaborate closely with automation teams to integrate instrumentation with process control systems, maintaining alignment with design intent and technical specifications
