Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, or related discipline
  • Extensive experience in I&C engineering within large-scale infrastructure projects (water sector experience highly desirable)
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing plant control and instrumentation solutions
  • Experience with cable termination drawings and cable routing design
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian and international standards (AS, IEC, ISO, ASME, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of scope of services and technical documentation for DCS, pneumatics, analysers (pH, conductivity, ORP, etc.) and instrumentation (flow, pressure, etc.)
  • Develop detailed I&C schedules, including cables, instruments, and I/O assignments
  • Preparation of Instrumentation Datasheets, select and specify appropriate instruments and monitoring systems based on process requirements, Sydney Water standards and compliance
  • Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and, where applicable, Sydney Water standards
  • Validate control sequences for water and wastewater operations, ensuring accurate data acquisition, process efficiency, and reliable monitoring and control
  • Assist and Plan the location and arrangement of instrumentation and control equipment, including cabinets and plant layouts
  • Collaborate closely with automation teams to integrate instrumentation with process control systems, maintaining alignment with design intent and technical specifications
