Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Entry level into Clinical Advancement Program (CAP 1)
  • Ability to float to inpatient areas across Panhandle regions (Pensacola, FL; Panama City, FL; Mobile, AL; Montgomery, AL)
  • Completion of CAP requirements to advance
  • Physical ability for direct patient care: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending over (reasonable accommodations for disabilities)

Responsibilities

  • Perform all essential functions under direction of Supervisor, with guidance from Educator/Preceptor, or in collaboration with another RN
  • Conduct ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre/during/post treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plans, and notify Supervisor/Physician/primary nurse as indicated
  • Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
  • Recognize and report patient status variations from normal to appropriate health team members (e.g., Supervisor, physician, facility primary Nurse)
  • Direct and provide safe, effective patient care for assigned patients per modality-specific treatment procedures
  • Assess daily patient care needs and collaborate with direct/ancillary staff
  • Initiate and coordinate communication with FKC/Non-FKC dialysis providers and facility personnel for continuity of care
  • Implement, administer, monitor, and document intradialytic transfusions; notify physician/blood supplier of adverse reactions
  • Administer medications as prescribed, document justification and effectiveness
  • Initiate and assist with emergency response measures
  • Serve as resource for health care team, participate in staff training/orientation
  • Provide specialized nursing care instruction to hospital/facility staff as per contract
  • Assist in Outpatient facility as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
