Requirements

  • 1 year of industrial maintenance education preferred (e.g., possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience
  • 1+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent experience required
  • Basic computer skills necessary to log information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation
  • Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Effective communication skills and basic math skills
  • Willing and able to lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to walk or stand on hard floors for 8-12 hour days
  • Regularly required to stand, stoop, climb ladders, change work levels, twist, squat, climb stairs, reach, push, pull, and move about the facility
  • Ability to move from one area of production to another
  • Ability to work in a cold, damp to hot environment

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety precautions and health hazard protocols related to ammonia, as per Tyson requirements
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, including OSHA and the EPA
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HOWDEN, SULLAIR, & MYCOM Ammonia Compressors, condensers, valve stations
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heat exchangers, pump packages, and liquid ammonia pumps
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair air units, refrigeration PLC, and all control components
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair boilers
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hot water system
  • Maintain these components in optimal operating condition to meet Food Industry Standards
  • Participate as an Emergency Response Team Member
  • Perform other duties as assigned
