Requirements

  • Hands-on technical leadership in RL environment projects
  • Ability to own end-to-end lifecycle of RL environment projects (design, task generation, reward/verifier design, quality, delivery)
  • Experience leading teams of engineers, subject matter experts, researchers, and data ops
  • Skills in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and retaining talent
  • Expertise in setting processes for generating environment code, database schemas, seed data, tasks, and verifiers
  • Ability to establish quality rubrics, automated validation scripts, and human-in-the-loop review processes
  • Customer relationship management skills, acting as primary point of contact for AI labs
  • Participation in sales and solutioning conversations, translating researcher needs into environment goals

Responsibilities

  • Lead RL Environment projects end-to-end for clients, ensuring match to specs, quality, and on-time delivery
  • Ensure RL environments, input data, and generated data (e.g., agent trajectories, reward scores) meet frontier standards for realism, difficulty, diversity
  • Build and enable teams with full-stack engineers, back-end engineers, domain experts, QAs, data creators, reviewers, etc
  • Set processes for team members to generate environment components and establish quality controls
  • Own customer relationships, provide updates, gather feedback, and identify growth opportunities for project scope and revenue
  • Participate in client solutioning with sales team, understand AI lab needs, and translate into environment goals
  • Demonstrate proof of value for evals and post-training
