Requirements

  • Master of Science degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Bachelor of Science degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering with minimum 7 years of related FPGA and system design experience with PCIe, Ethernet, and memory interfaces
  • 7+ years of total experience, including FPGA and/or ASIC experience (e.g., VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog coding, validation, and/or simulation/verification tools)
  • Clear Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to customers with varying levels of expertise
  • Empathy & Patience: Supporting customers calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Relationship Building: Establishing trust and positive rapport to foster successful engagements
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to deliver unified solutions
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience with FPGA and/or ASIC including Verilog and/or VHDL coding and simulation/verification tools
  • Design experience using FPGAs with high performance External Memory Interface controllers and protocols including DDR3/DDR4 SDRAM and/or QDR-IV SRAM
  • Design experience using FPGAs with high-speed serial transceivers, high-speed board design, and high-speed serial bus protocols PCIe and/or Ethernet and video protocols
  • Experience in customer support or customer facing role

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with field engineering and customer design teams, including on-site technical support, to assist in design and verification of high-performance FPGAs using Intel and third-party design software (e.g., Quartus, ModelSim)
  • Perform design evaluations and recommend strategies to optimize designs for important design opportunities
  • Create example designs and reference designs to demonstrate the usage of Intel products
  • Develop technical collateral and presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Evaluate new software/IP and provide feedback to developers to improve the quality of Intel tools, IP, and methodologies
  • Anticipate future customer requirements and contribute to product planning and definition of product enhancements
  • Provide technical support to Altera customers and sales teams in the areas of PCIe, Ethernet, and/or External Memory Interfaces
  • Help resolve challenging customer issues and develop proactive collateral to make customers successful using Altera products
