Requirements

  • Ability to manage a team in risk and resilience
  • Knowledge of Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), key control testing, and action remediation
  • Expertise in monitoring managerial control functions, operational risk trends, and root cause analysis
  • Experience in implementing operational resilience frameworks, including regulatory compliance (Bank of England, FCA, PRA)
  • Skills in risk register development, key risk indicator analysis, and risk event monitoring/reporting
  • Capability to collaborate across business units, SEI Group, and other entities
  • Strong communication skills for board presentations, training, and promoting risk culture
  • Understanding of regulatory expectations on operational resilience, impact tolerances, and scenario testing

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Operations risk and resilience team, ensuring they stay updated with the changing landscape and support/challenge the wider business constructively
  • Lead preparation, monitoring, and reporting on RCSA for UK Private Banking unit teams (Operations, SWP, Technology), feeding into SIEL firm-wide RCSA, including risk registers, key risk indicators, control testing, risk event monitoring, trend analysis, and remediation plans
  • Challenge the risk framework to ensure it remains fit for purpose amid business changes
  • Manage and support root cause analysis of operational risk events within risk event reporting
  • Continually monitor processes to ensure controls are in place and maintained at agreed levels with Management and Clients
  • Promote a strong risk culture through staff education and training on risks and mitigation techniques
  • Work closely with Operations team and other first line control functions for coordinated risk management, compliance, and service delivery
  • Lead development and implementation of SIEL’s Operational Resilience framework per regulatory requirements, including interpreting expectations, identifying/mapping frameworks and important business services, validating impact tolerances, scenario testing, maintaining communication plans, and conducting training
