Requirements

  • High School diploma or Trade School degree in construction, building sciences, engineering, or architecture (preferred)
  • Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification or relevant experience in energy efficiency (required)
  • At least two years of experience in construction, building sciences, or a related field; experience in estimating, site auditing, or photovoltaic installation (preferred)
  • Strong customer service skills (required)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn and adapt to technology
  • Experience using online platforms such as Dropbox, Salesforce (CRM), and working across multiple devices (laptop, tablet, smartphone)
  • Flexibility based on customer availability
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation, including ability to drive for work
  • Willingness to move through the pre-employment screening process
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (e.g., using tools, ladders, protective gear)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee energy efficiency controls and conduct physical site inspections using tools like measuring devices, hand tools, ladders, blower doors, combustion safety analysis equipment, and protective gear
  • Prepare and upload quality control documentation for energy efficiency upgrades to a shared database and communicate results to energy efficiency (EE) contractors
  • Monitor onsite installations by direct and indirect installers, identify and correct discrepancies to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Analyze installation failures and implement corrective actions based on findings and severity of quality issues
  • Develop strong working relationships with solar installers and energy efficiency crews to ensure installations meet industry standards and best practices
  • Design and implement training programs to enhance quality awareness among Field Technicians and subcontractors
  • Continuously improve quality assurance (QA) inspection processes and procedures
  • Prepare detailed QA reports and track quality performance metrics
  • Ensure energy efficiency objectives are met by communicating subcontractor expectations and coordinating policies, procedures, and productivity standards
  • Uphold quality and customer service standards by identifying trends, resolving issues, and recommending system improvements
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and maintain technical expertise in energy efficiency
  • Support the team by identifying opportunities to enhance customer service through energy efficiency initiatives
  • Assist the Account Management team with technical inquiries and concerns as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
