Candidates must have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. They should have at least 5 years of experience owning and delivering software for complex embedded systems, with mastery of C/C++, Python, and firmware build and debug tools. Experience in shipping and supporting a complex product, including custom sensors, real-time computing, HMI, and custom batteries is required. Familiarity with bootloaders, Linux/AOSP, Zephyr/FreeRTOS, DSP/ISP, Bluetooth/Wifi/Ethernet, USB, and MIPI is essential. Candidates must be comfortable using electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. A passion for learning and experimentation, demonstrated by side projects or learning endeavors, is also important.
The Embedded Engineer will architect, design, implement, and test embedded software running on various platforms from low-power MCUs to mobile SOCs. They will contribute to hardware design, bring up, and debug through part selection, interface definition, driver development, tooling development, and support. The engineer will define and continuously improve firmware development, debug, and CI workflow and environment. They will contribute to software development for interfacing to embedded systems from PC or network equipment for data collection, testing, and calibration. Additionally, the engineer will understand requirements and architecture of higher-level software components, leading integration and optimization of those components for running on or interfacing with embedded systems, while engaging and directing partners to augment embedded systems development capabilities.
