  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code and application of Electrical Safe Work Practices

Responsibilities

  • Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining components of all power and electrical control systems, including motors, safety critical devices, and motor operated valves
  • Operating test equipment including multi-meters, meggers, rotation testers, and high potential testers
  • Performing mechanical procedures while documenting and maintaining accurate information
  • Interpreting blueprints, loop drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Operating refinery vehicles, hand tools, and equipment including power lift equipment and man lifts
  • Performing preventative maintenance on power and control systems
  • Installing and monitoring performance of electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement
  • Researching documentation, validating field settings, performing calibration or adjustment, and documenting results
  • Laying out, assembling, installing, testing, repairing, and adjusting all types of electrical equipment, wiring, and conduit systems, including switch gears, power breakers, transformers, protective relays, controls, and terminations of various types of cable
