Requirements
Completion of a formal apprentice program or equivalent years of education and/or experience (Journeyman Electrician level)
Ability to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment
Ability to inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, need for adjustment or repair, and ensure compliance with codes
Ability to test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
Experience working with low, medium, and high voltages, including troubleshooting and testing of 440v and 2300v breakers and motor starter circuits
Ability to read and work from schematics and prints
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Strong understanding of safe electrical practices
Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated equipment
Ability to properly install conduit and wire
Experience with PLC’s preferred
Ability to qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing, and pre-employment medical requirements
