Requirements

  • 5 years experience with Lock-Out-Tag out procedures, and be willing to wear PPE Arc Rated clothing up to 8 cal/cm2. Ability to do electrical work with clothing Arc rating to 40 cal/cm2
  • Be flexible to changing shift times when needed
  • Able to walk throughout the plant, climb ladders, twist, and bend routinely
  • Lift and move up to 75 pounds on a routine basis using proper lifting techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot pushbutton and selector switch circuits
  • Demonstrate the ability to install and troubleshoot thermocouples, RTD’s and any transducer used for measurement and feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to start and troubleshoot plant utility systems including fire protection
  • Demonstrated the ability to install/label conductors from panel and termination schedules
  • Understand the basic components of all transformers used on site - medium voltage and low voltage
  • Understand the power distribution system and control power distribution system
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot, adjust and repair/replace the following components: relays, limit switches, proximity switches, photo-eyes
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify the main components and functions of Siemens Simatic PLC and drives. Demonstrate the ability to open machine specific code and find where input/outputs in abnormal states when machine will not function
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot any E-stop circuit, adjust and repair servo motors and proportional valves
  • Demonstrate the ability to: monitor and edit PLC tags and create trends of any bit. To force inputs and outputs and toggle bits. To program a timer and counter instruction, add subroutine to set a trap for faults
  • Demonstrated ability with ET1 to replace a drive and reset all parameters. Troubleshoot 2 and 3 wire control circuits
  • Demonstrate the understanding of encoders and tachometers
  • Ability to size motor overloads heaters. Ability to size contactors and motor starters based on motor horsepower
  • Communication skills
  • Knowledge of general plant layout
  • Fire protection Systems: know the differences in various fire extinguishers and be able to use them properly
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory
  • Ability to obtain forklift operators certification as well as articulating and scissors style lift
  • Demonstrate procedure for safe handling of compressed gas cylinders
  • Demonstrate use of drill press, bandsaw, bench grinder, soldering iron and other basic hand and power tools
  • Demonstrate procedure for checking fuses, wiring single and three phase low voltage motors
  • Demonstrate ability to work with upper level technicians and supervision on regular PMs and repairs
  • Employees will be given 18 months to master a [requirements]

  • Familiarity with metric and standard hand tools and able to safely and properly use to dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand and power tools
  • With a tool allowance annually, keep IKO supplied tool chest/cabinet with small hand tools up to 1” or 24mm. Personal tool list to be provided
  • Utilize Maximo computerized maintenance management system. Utilize Modula storeroom racking system
