Requirements

  • 5 years' experience with Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures
  • Willing to wear PPE Arc Rated clothing up to 8 cal/cm² and perform electrical work with Arc rating to 40 cal/cm²
  • Flexible to changing shift times when needed
  • Able to walk throughout the plant, climb ladders, twist, and bend routinely
  • Able to lift and move up to 75 pounds routinely using proper lifting techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot pushbutton and selector switch circuits
  • Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot thermocouples, RTDs, and transducers for measurement and feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to start and troubleshoot plant utility systems including fire protection
  • Demonstrated ability to install/label conductors from panel and termination schedules
  • Understanding of basic components of medium voltage and low voltage transformers used on site
  • Understanding of power distribution system and control power distribution system
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and repair/replace relays, limit switches, proximity switches, and photo-eyes
  • Demonstrated ability to identify main components and functions of Siemens Simatic PLC and drives; open machine-specific code to find inputs/outputs in abnormal states
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot E-stop circuits, adjust and repair servo motors and proportional valves
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and edit PLC tags, create trends of bits, force inputs/outputs, toggle bits, program timer and counter instructions, and add subroutines for fault traps
  • Demonstrated ability with ET1 to replace a drive and reset parameters; troubleshoot 2- and 3-wire control circuits
  • Understanding of encoders and tachometers
  • Ability to size motor overload heaters, contactors, and motor starters based on motor horsepower
  • Communication skills
  • Knowledge of general plant layout
  • Knowledge of fire protection systems, differences in fire extinguishers, and proper use
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory
  • Ability to obtain forklift operator certification as well as articulating and scissors lift certifications
  • Demonstrated procedure for safe handling of compressed gas cylinders
  • Demonstrated use of drill press, bandsaw, bench grinder, soldering iron, and other basic hand/power tools
  • Demonstrated procedure for checking fuses and wiring single- and three-phase low voltage motors
  • Ability to work with upper-level technicians and supervision on regular PMs and repairs

  • Consistently maintain a clean work environment in the maintenance shop and production areas
  • Safely and properly use metric and standard hand/power tools to dismantle and reassemble equipment
  • Maintain IKO-supplied tool chest/cabinet with small hand tools up to 1” or 24mm using annual tool allowance (provide personal tool list)
  • Utilize Maximo computerized maintenance management system and Modula storeroom racking system
