Requirements

  • Time served apprenticeship with an electrical bias essential
  • Electrical Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Electrical installation work on both single phase and 3 phase
  • Extensive experience solving and repairing electrical systems, including PLC programs
  • Knowledge of plastic moulding equipment is desired
  • Excellent communication skills, work in a team environment and the ability to train and provide guidance to others
  • Experience working in a clean room environment would be preferred
  • Licensed (or willing to gain license) to operate all types of MEWP vehicles
  • HNC/ONC or BTEC in Electrical Engineering
  • 18th Edition Electrical Regulations
  • Must be available to work overtime
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Observes all company safety rules and regulations; knowledgeable of HSE standards and other occupational hazards

Responsibilities

  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified goals
  • Resolves equipment breakdowns to ensure production downtime is minimised; uses problem solving techniques to quickly get to the root cause of problems and provides effective corrective actions
  • Installation, investigation and repair of both single phase and 3 phase circuits
  • Fault analysis of hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits (1.5V to 415V 3phase) and common utility / lighting circuits
  • Provides preventative maintenance cover for all production related equipment
  • Installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load and implementation of new control logic
  • Fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic modification if required
  • Achieve goals to contribute to team, department, and company objectives
  • Actively participate in Practical Process Improvement/5S/and other continuous improvement/lean projects
  • Responsible for ensuring that a clean, tidy and hazard free working environment is maintained to defined standards
  • Follow all lock out / tag out procedures
  • Ensure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays or machine down time to relevant personnel
  • Works from equipment specifications, drawings, sketches and verbal instructions; maintain parts usage and repair logs
