- Electrical engineering technologist diploma
- Red Seal Journey Electrician preferred
- 1-5 years working in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience with electrical controls, transmitters, valves, drives, temperature measuring devices, programmable logic controllers, and automation software
- Must be willing to work shift work (days and nights)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Design, install, maintain, program, configure, and troubleshoot electrical machinery, controls, industrial automation, and data acquisition systems
- Receive and/or prepare wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions covering scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work
- Analyze all types of drawings and wiring diagrams to locate and install circuits and equipment, determine material or replacement needs, and select a logical approach to troubleshooting and repair problems
- Plan details of working procedures to affect the most logical approach to the job
- Plan and perform work requiring specification codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of equipment
- Locate source of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation
- Dismantle, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc
- Replace coils, resistors, relays, rheostats, etc
- Program/configure automation controllers such as PLCs, robotic controllers, variable frequency drives, DC drives, etc
