Requirements

Electrical engineering technologist diploma
Red Seal Journey Electrician preferred
1-5 years working in an industrial manufacturing environment
Experience with electrical controls, transmitters, valves, drives, temperature measuring devices, programmable logic controllers, and automation software
Must be willing to work shift work (days and nights)
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Good problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

Design, install, maintain, program, configure, and troubleshoot electrical machinery, controls, industrial automation, and data acquisition systems
Receive and/or prepare wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions covering scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work
Analyze all types of drawings and wiring diagrams to locate and install circuits and equipment, determine material or replacement needs, and select a logical approach to troubleshooting and repair problems
Plan details of working procedures to affect the most logical approach to the job
Plan and perform work requiring specification codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of equipment
Locate source of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation
Dismantle, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc
Replace coils, resistors, relays, rheostats, etc
Program/configure automation controllers such as PLCs, robotic controllers, variable frequency drives, DC drives, etc
