Requirements

  • Technical degree (minimum: high school) in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • 3–5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in wire harness design
  • Basic knowledge of wiring harnesses and electrical components
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with CAD tools
  • Solid understanding of technical drawings
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
  • Open-minded and collaborative, with experience working in diverse teams

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage technical documentation (drawings, BOMs) aligned with project timelines
  • Define schematics and select key components (coverings, attachments) to optimize system performance
  • Collaborate with customers on DMU, physical layout, and installation FMEA
  • Support component designers and maintain electrical component databases
  • Lead wiring harness installation planning and drawing delivery status
  • Apply Aptiv engineering tools and FTQ checks to ensure design quality
  • Coordinate design activities across development and production sites
  • Organize design team meetings and support P-FMEA in the plant
  • Lead special technical initiatives and maintain Product Engineering KPIs
  • Report design progress and risks to the Product Engineering Manager
  • Support industrialization, PPAP activities, and wiring harness qualification testing
  • Manage design changes and propose cost reduction solutions (VA/VE)
  • Act as the technical interface with customers throughout the program lifecycle
