Requirements

  • Serve as a key technical subject matter expert on material handling equipment (MHE), including conveyor systems, sortation, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
  • Expertise in electrical, mechanical, and control system communication aspects of MHE
  • Deep understanding of material flow optimization and system controls logic
  • Ability to facilitate and train effective troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance processes
  • Capability to rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to service
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis, including implementing proper processes and training procedures
  • Highly experienced in proactively monitoring the overall health of building systems

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance in the supply chain facility
  • Use preventive and predictive maintenance processes to support successful operations
  • Rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service
  • Work with other Target engineers and operational partners to optimize performance and flow of material handling equipment
  • Lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives
  • Serve as an escalated support resource during downtime events
  • Proactively monitor and maintain the building's systems and MHE
  • Implement processes and training as part of root cause analysis following downtime events
