Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, a large corporate tax department, or a combination of both
  • Deep knowledge of federal and state income tax laws
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740 / FAS 109 tax accounting
  • Experience managing income tax compliance and provision processes
  • Proven success managing IRS and state audits
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of income tax planning strategies
  • Assist with transfer pricing documentation and supply chain tax planning initiatives
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities; propose and implement strategies to improve the company’s tax position
  • Communicate the company’s tax strategy and posture to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to identify ways the tax function can add value to operations
  • Network with industry professionals to stay current on best practices and regulatory changes
  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 (FAS 109)
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to ensure timely and accurate tax accounting
  • Oversee the preparation of tax-related disclosures and footnotes
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Manage all aspects of federal, state, and local income and franchise tax compliance, including return preparation and estimated payments
  • Ensure tax implications of major corporate initiatives are appropriately addressed and communicated
  • Lead corporate income and franchise tax audits, including IRS examinations
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing tax team
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to tax staff
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability
