Responsibilities

  • Manage a China based team of hardware engineers - including Mechanical, Electrical, New Product Introduction, and Reliability Engineering
  • Collaborate closely with Lime’s Software Engineering teams in China, US based Engineering teams (hardware and software), Product and Program Managers, Design, Ops, and Supply Chain teams
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought partnership to shape and influence future roadmaps, product architectures, technology investments, partnerships, and product plans
  • Provide technical oversight and management of ODM and JDM supplier relationships and projects
  • Own the hardware development process from concept to launch, ensuring high-quality features that delight customers
  • Work across multiple technologies, facilitating deep technical discussions on product architecture and product design/development tradeoffs, aligning workstreams across hardware (e.g., wheels, brakes, batteries), power (e.g., charging, motors), electronics (e.g., GPS, bluetooth, cameras), and firmware (e.g., lock/unlock algorithms)
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the process, seeking opportunities to enhance methodologies and mechanisms to deliver exceptional products
  • Stay abreast of new technologies relevant to the industry and implement them when feasible; continue to self-educate with new technologies
  • Bring best in class tools and processes to Lime’s development processes including mCAD, structural simulation, mold flow simulation, 3D tolerance evaluation, DFM, eCAD, schematic capture, circuit simulation, SIPI, PCB layout, PCB fab, SMT, ICT, conducted and OTA RF testing, system validation, and qualification
  • Support a talented hardware engineering team, providing coaching to enable increased team impact, grow talent within the team, and help team members achieve their career goals
