Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering Technology curriculum
  • 5+ years of design engineering experience
  • Professional experience in mechanical component design, validation or testing
  • Strong knowledge of CREO for modeling and detailing
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills in English
  • Good interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges
  • Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design

Responsibilities

  • Design a variety of engine aftertreatment components and work in a multi-disciplined team to ensure solutions meet customer requirements
  • Develop design solutions for regulation, functional, durability, reliability, and manufacturing requirements
  • Own component cost and work with suppliers, PCE’s and buyers to optimize designs
  • Support FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs
  • Develop drawings to meet Caterpillar standards and other technical data to support the release of parts
  • Present at design reviews with on schedule, completed staff work
  • Support field and production issues on root cause/ICA/PCA
  • Collaborate with global suppliers, lead PCE’s and buyers to ensure proper supplier resilience of different aftertreatment components
  • Support worldwide facilities with large aftertreatment global footprint strategy
  • Lead aftertreatment cost reduction projects to meet product cost target
  • Communicate to peers, team leader and stakeholders with good teamwork
